BEGIN WORKING ALMOST IMMEDIATELY – Participants will be placed with an employer after a short infection and safety module.

WORK WHILE TRAINING – Participants will work full time and meet one day each week for classroom training and skills practice

POTENTIAL FOR FREE NURSING EDUCATION – Most Certified Nurse Aide employers provide tuition for training as an LPN or RN.

RECEIVE MULTIPLE INDUSTRY-RECOGNIZED CERTIFICATIONS – Caregiver Training Certificate of Completion, State of Michigan Certified Nurse Aide Certification, U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Certification, Dementia Certification.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will I make? Caregivers start out at approximately $10 per hour. Certified Nurse Aides start out at approximately $12 per hour. Due to the State’s need for quality care and the current Covid-19 pandemic, wages for caregivers may be up to $12 per hour and $15 for Certified Nurse Aides.

What kind of hours will I work? – Home care clients and care facilities are in need of employees for all shifts. You can discuss your hours and scheduling needs with your employer.

Is this work safe considering the Covid-19 Pandemic? YES! We provide an intensive six-hour safety and infection control training using the most up to date information available from the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.

Where will I work? – You will work near your home. Caregivers will work in private homes caring for the elderly and disabled. Certified Nurse Aides will work in long-term-care facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals.
